The heavily beamed ceilings and exposed stonework help retain the character of this former barn. The fireplace houses a glass-fronted wood burning stove that gives a cosy glow to the cottage on a winter's evening and backs gas central heating. The open plan lounge, farmhouse style kitchen and dining area lead via French doors onto a south facing patio and to the large gardens. To the side of the house there is a private garden exclusively for the use of this cottage. Upstairs there is a double bedroom, a twin bedded room and a bathroom with bath and shower.

Walking: The road ends at the cottages and a network of footpaths start from here. The energetic can walk up Cross Fell which, at nearly 3000ft is the highest peak in the Pennines. You can of course just wander 100 yards up the lane to experience the total tranquillity of the open fells with magnificent views across the Eden Valley to the Lake District National Park beyond.
